Photo Ad Assistance

Note: The file size limit for Barn Sale ads has been raised from 60k to 99k.

It is not absolutely necessary to upload your photo at the time you place our photo listing. If it doesn't work you can still go on and complete the PayPal payment section. Any time after that you can log in, go to "My Account", click on "View My Ads", select thead listing you want to modify click "edit". Then you will be able to change your text and upload a picture as many times as you wish, for as long as the ad listing is running.
Of course if you mail a check or use an e-check online you will need to wait until the payment has been received and posted before your ad listing will appear in "View My Ads".

Sometimes the size limit error message will appear when the image is already smaller than 99k. The problem is most often encountered when using one graphics program, the Paint program that comes with Windows. Almost any other program, including the various versions of Photo Shop LE that often come free with digital cameras, will work fine. 

The problem with Windows Paint is that, unfortunately, it does not create images to the Internationally accepted standard formats for GIF and JPG. Microsoft did not write the program, they merely bought the company that made it in order to get for Windows. Even with Vista, Microsoft still hasn't fixed the problem. The BarnSale classified program requires strict standards for GIF and JPG for security reasons. It's an older programs and there are later programs that have solved the problem. FLAhorsse has been around a long time and it would be a real problem to switch programs at this point.

If your photo/image/graphics program doesn't let you resize your image to fit (under 99k) in the Barn Sale Classified, try looking HERE There are several choices, many with a free trial. We make this suggestion only in an effort to offer a helpful solution.

The photo processing function is manual and not automated so there may be a delay of as much as a day or more in processing. Your processed image will be emailed back to you ready for uploading. 2: Attach your photo to an email to tim@flahorse.com and be sure to include your listing number.

You could also mail a check, payable to Tim Trott, to 3628 Seminole Lane, Marianna, FL 32448. Keep in mind that it may be delayed if I am out of town. An E-check (PayPal) will delay the process by the 4 days it takes to clear.
