  • July 9-12, 2009 - Southeastern Equestrian Trails Conference - Making $ents out of Sustainability…Green Horses is the theme for SETC 2009. We will explore ways to build better trails...protect water quality at creek/river crossings, at horse camps, and at our own farms. Additional topics will be manure management, carbon footprints, invasive exotics, conservation easements and more! If we want to preserve historical use of horses on public lands, we need to educate ourselves to be good (green) stewards. There will be numerous Mobile Workshops on Thursday (pre-conference) and Sunday (post-Conference). Plan to attend to learn more about policy, planning and politics!

Background: After several successful years in Clemson, SC, the Conference started its rotation around the Southeast: 2003 Gainesville, FL, 2004 Atlanta, GA, 2005 Hi Point, NC, 2006 Roanoke, VA, 2007 Knoxville, TN. The last SETC was held in 2008 in Charleston, SC. 2009 brings SETC back to FL…GA will follow in 2010. Other States have pledged their continued support and interest in the only nationally recognized conference of its type funded by the Federal Highway Administration. This informative conference is intended for all trail users and land managers. Although held in the Southeast, SETC draws attendees from across the USA. Through sponsorships and grants, the cost of the conference has been kept to a minimal fee per person. Hosted by SEDRA and The Goethe Trail, Inc.; profits donated to the Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation. Information about registration, Sponsorship and Exhibit info is available at www.southeasternequestriantrails.com. 352.317.0273 email SETC2009@Aol.com
