All riders must present a negative Coggins form at all rides. Due to insurance requirements nonmembers ust purchase a temporary membership to participate in rides. Always call and confirm an activity with a board member or ride contact.

Equestrian Camp Permits

As a reminder, large groups should send notification at least 30 days in advance to allow time to determine whether to issue a special use permit. The Campsite Application form may be printed from the District web site at www.swfwmd.state.fl.us under the heading Recreational Guide.

For individuals and small groups, please allow 10 days to process camping permits. For more information, or to receive a campsite application by fax or mail please contact Dave Morgan at 800-423-1476 x4482 or Dave.Morgan@swfwmd.state.fl.us.


NEWS AND VIEWS


  • "Nicole's Law" effective Oct. 1, 2009, requires use of protective headgear by
    horse riders 16 years-old and younger, who are riding on or in public roads, right-of-ways, equestrian trails, recreation trails, parks, nature preserves, schools, or "any other publicly owned or controlled property."  according to the Office of the Florida Governor.
  • Cowboy Jackpot Arena Competition at M.C. Arena, Moss Bluff, 4th Saturday of the month, 352-288-6950.
  • Reservations for Florida State Parks are now made through Reserve America, toll free, at 1-800-326-3521
