  • February 18 to February 25, 2012  -  Florida Cracker Trail Association’s (FCTA) Annual Cross State Ride.  The FCTA is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the mission of “Keeping History Alive”, by educating through demonstration, the Old Florida Cracker Pioneer ways of agriculture, animal husbandry, respect for the land as well as the hardships and joys of life on the original frontier. The Annual Cross-State Ride serves to preserve the importance of the role of the State of Florida in the introduction of horses and cattle by the Spanish Explorers into the New World and the birth and continuance of the cattle and horse industries by its future settlers and their descendants and to support related causes. We are excited that in 2012, the Annual Cross State Ride will be our 25th Anniversary!   We will begin in Bradenton, Florida at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, and commence with a parade through Ft. Pierce on Saturday, February 25 with camping on the beach!  We will complete approximately 110 miles when we have finished the ride.  Please visit our website:  www.CrackerTrail.org for information on the FCTA membership and the Annual Ride.

  • March 2nd - March 9th, 2012  -  24th Annual Trail Ride Event, Kenansville, Florida- The members of the Osceola County Wagon Train  and Trail Ride Inc. would like to invite you to attend our 24th year of providing a fun filled week of horseback riding with beautiful Florida scenery and a variety of entertainment in a family oriented atmosphere. This yearly event is attended by participants from Osceola County and the rest of Florida as well as Georgia, Alabama and many other states. The dues for participating in this year’s ride will be $95.00 per person for anyone 18 years or older in age, $25.00 per child ages 12-17, and children under 11 may participate free with a paying adult. Food packages are available at an additional cost from an independent food vendor. The Osceola County Wagon Train & Trail Ride, Inc is a corporation, not-for-profit, composed completely of volunteer members. The mission of this group is to promote the appreciation and preserve the heritage of Osceola County, Florida through horsemanship, education, fellowship and reverence for the land.   • March 4-9, 2012 Equestrian Management Workshop (EMW).
